Monitor incoming links software/tool - LinkSpector

LinkSpector is a powerful yet simple tool that was developed especially for website owners and SEO managers
who need to follow their incoming links on a regular bases.

Here is a quick guide:

Type the Site’s name and address and press OK.

LinkSpector will try to find Backlinks with href that contain the exact address entered or Backlinks with href equal to the address entered without the “http://www”.

Use the Save or Save As options from the File Menu to save the file.

Double Click on a Site to open the Backlinks Window.

 Right click on the list and select New Backlink.

Type the address for the website that contains the Backlink.

If the website contains more than one Backlink to the Site, enter which occurrence LinkSpector should focus on.

Some websites have badly configured Content Encoding Meta tag which can cause the anchor text of the Backlink to be unintelligible, selecting Force UTF8 can sometimes fix this.

Checking websites for Backlinks

To check if all the Backlinks exist in the websites use Check All from the toolbar.

It is also possible to select several Backlinks (using ctrl and shift) and check only them by right clicking on the list and pressing Check.

Using the list context menu it is also possible to view the website’s source code or its list of anchors, only 5 of these views can be opened at once.

Clicking on Address or on href will open these addresses in the default browser.

After the Check, each website Link State will change to one of the following: New, Accepted, Rejected, Unreachable, NotFound.

New – these are Backlinks that were either just added or were modified on the website since the last time LinkSpector did a check.

Accepted – these are Backlinks that the user marked as Accepted and were NOT modified on the website since the last time LinkSpector did a check.

Rejected – these Backlinks that the user marked as Rejected and were NOT modified on the website since the last time LinkSpector did a check.

NotFound – these are Backlinks that LinkSpector could not find in the entered website.

Unreachable – these are Backlinks that LinkSpector could not reach their website.

 

It is also possible to add more than one Backlink at once by selecting Add More from the toolbar.

Enter more than one address or copy paste from other sources, pressing Add All will add the websites to the list.
